Welcome to 'a short distance ahead'

So I finally decided to give blogging a try.

For some reason, what I thought would be nice would be to have something that:

• looks and feel like a blog (posts, history, comments)
• have a real domain name (ashortdistanceahead.org, more on that later)
• allow some control over the layout, maybe using Bootstrap
• can be hosted in github so I can easily maintain it

Looking around for frameworks that would allow to build a static blog, I found Jekyll which is based on Ruby. There is a lot of information out there about it.
